The Grace Basket Initiative (GBI) is AWOCEMI’s flagship program providing grocery support to vulnerable single mothers while creating pathways to long-term empowerment.
THE PROBLEM
Across underserved communities in Nigeria, many single mothers face overwhelming challenges:
- Poverty and food insecurity
- Emotional trauma and isolation
- Limited access to opportunities
- Lack of support systems
The daily struggle to provide food leaves little room for growth, stability, or a better future.

The Grace Basket Initiative (GBI) provides monthly grocery support to vulnerable women, particularly single mothers and widows.
More than a relief program, GBI is a gateway to empowerment, connecting women to mentorship, skills training, and sustainable opportunities.
HOW WE DELIVER AID
Step 1 – Identify Families
AWOCEMI selects vulnerable women within underserved communities.
Step 2 – Provide Grocery Support
Monthly food baskets are distributed to reduce immediate hardship.
Step 3 – Connect to Programs
Women are linked to mentorship and empowerment opportunities.
Step 4 – Transition Forward
AWOCEMI supports women toward financial independence and stability.
